Cross Country distances in Lahti 2011

Cross Country diciplines in Lahti Ski Games 2011 were confirmed in FIS Congress held Antalya, Turkey this week. Sprints for ladies and men will be in classic technique and pursuit distances for ladies 5 km + 5 km, and for men 10 km + 10 km.


Lahti Ski Games 11.-13.3.2011

Lahti Ski Games will be held during  11.-13.3.2011 next year.

Two World Cup competitions in Ski Jumping, two in Nordic Combined and four in Cross Country. Cross Country races are pursuits and sprints.

Nordic Combined competitions are World Cup Finals.


76.500 spectators during the weekend

Lahti Ski Games attracted 76.500 spectators. Friday 7,500, Saturday day competitions 19.000, evening 35.000 and Sunday 15.000 spectators.


Norwegians ruled the World Cup in Salpausselkä

Norwegians were at their best in Salpausselkä this year. They won five different competitions.

Also Hannu Manninen made the Finnish crowd happy by becoming second and first in Nordic Combined.

Simon Ammann won the HS 130 Ski Jump in Lahti

Simon Ammann won the HS 130 Ski Jump in Lahti this Sunday. Ammann got 284,4 points and he beat Adam Malysz by 10,1 points. Third place went to Thomas Morgenstern, who got 272,4 points.

Simen Oestensen was glad after the double victory

Simen Oestensen from Norways’s Team 2 was extremely glad after men’s Cross Country relay on Sunday. The reason was obvious: Norway’s Team 2 came first and Team 1 was second just behind the winners.

Team Norway dominated men’s Cross Country relay

Norway took a double victory in men’s Cross Country relay on Sunday. Norway’s Team Two won and their time was 1.27:43. Norway’s Team One was second, only 0.2 seconds behind their own country men. Team Germany was third. They were also very close to the winner, only 0.5 seconds behind.
