Stoch wins in Lahti
Kamil Stoch took a clear victory in the Sunday night competition in ski jumping. Ryoyu Kobayashi was second over fifteen points behind the Pole. Norwegian Robert Johansson was able to take the third place three points before the Austrian Stefan Kraft.
Stoch led already after the first round. He was ten points ahead of Stefan Kraft and Johansson. Kobayashi was fifth after the first round. On the second round Kobayashi performed the longest jump 129,5 meters and secured the second place.
Stoch was strong on the second round as well. With a 129 meter jump there was no questions about todays winner. Stoch won in Lahti also last year and seems to enjoy the hill in Salpausselkä.
- It was a really good competition. I was happy about the jumps I did as yesterday I had small problems. There is something that I like in this hill. I always like to be here and come back to Lahti.
Stoch doesn’t think about the World Championships in Seefeld yet.
- My focus is on Willingen at first. I want to keep this good level and then we will see what happens. Ski jumping level is really high and there are a few guys who can win the competitions, he says.
Kobayashi was happy about his second place.
- Today was a lot of fun and my jumps were really good so I liked that, Kobayashi says.
Also Johansson was satisfied of his performance.
- It was a good competition. I’ve been struggling a bit with the in-run here in the last years but this was a step in the right direction. I’ve been in a solid shape lately but I’ve been lacking a bit of consistency. But I just have to trust what I’m doing in the training and try to do the same in the competition, says Johansson.
