Team hill crowned the Saturday night – Germany took the win in a tight race
The Saturday evening of the Lahti Ski Games and FIS Nordic World Cup in Lahti concluded traditionally mens’ ski jumping team competition. The situation after the first round was very even between team Germany and Slovenia. Finally team Germany won the race with margin of 2,3 points to team Slovenia. The winner team formed by Constantin Schmid, Pasche Pius, Stephan Leyhe and Karl Geiger.
The Slovenian team consisted of Cene Prevc, Timi Zajc, Peter Prevc and Anze Lanisek. Third on the team hill was team Austria with Philipp Ayshenwald, Huber Stefan, Michael Hayboeck and Stefan Kraft. Austria took the third place with margin of 4.8 points behind Germany. Team Finland jumped 8th place with Niko Kytösaho, Jarkko Määttä, Arttu Pohjola and Antti Aalto.
Constantin Schmid from winner team Germany was not happy with his performance in the second round but praised his team.
— Especially the first round was really good from us, Schmid said.
Slovenian Cene Prevc from silver team Slovenia said there was some disappointment in the air as the team fought for first place.
— Tomorrow we will be very happy about our performance, Prevc said.
Stefan Huber from team Austria was very pleased with the podium position, which was personally his first.
— I’m super happy about the podium. It was a really close fight today, Huber said.
