Salpausselkä spirit showed its power again

Women’s Cross-Country 20 km Interval started Saturday in Salpausselkä. A large audience had gathered there right from the morning. Krista Pärmäkoski skied to the victory in the exciting competition, Victoria Carl was second by the 1.9 second time difference and Kerttu Niskanen took the third podium place.

Men’s Cross-Country 20 km Interval was one of the most awaited moments of Saturday. The atmosphere was amazing right before the race. Johannes Kläbo dominated and took a clear victory. Iivo Niskanen skied wonderfully to second place and Kläbo was joined by another Norwegian on the podium since Martin Nyenget finished third.

Nordic combined team sprint competition started by ski jumping, which was a success to teams Germany I and II and Austria I and II. Skiing changed the story, and Norway I won the race with its strong skiers. Austria I came second and Germany II finished third.

Saturday’s legendary evening competition of Team Large Hill (HS130) had some difficulties with wind conditions but was successfully finished. A dominant winner team was Norway and Austria came second and Germany ended up in third place.

Today Lahti Ski Games had an amazing 25000 spectators. Last days of competitions starts on Sunday at 10.00.
